Regulations are always changing throughout the world and they can have a tremendous impact on technology companies like ours here at Mail2World. On May 25th the new General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) goes into effect. It’s the most important change in data privacy regulation in 25 years and anyone who does digital business in (or with anyone in) Europe will be affected.
What is GDPR?
“The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is a regulation by which the European lawmakers intend to strengthen and unify data protection for all individuals within the European Union (EU). It also addresses the export of personal data outside the EU (i.e. with any business that does business with European customers or partners. The GDPR aims primarily to give control back to citizens and residents over their personal data and to simplify the regulatory environment for international business by unifying the regulation within the EU.
What is Personal Data?
